release our grasp

In going back, it reminded me of how much we’re told that our past makes us who we are. I firmly believe that it’s not necessarily our past, but more so what we do to change the future that makes us who we are. Sometimes, we have to abandon everything we have, everything we thought we were, everything we know, and everything we want to be. When we can finally release our grasp on the past, we allow the past to lose its grip over our lives.
