For example…if a child who feels hurt or neglected may show tampo by withdrawing from the group, refusing to be involved in anything or with anyone, and resisting expressions of affection.
Tampuhan is basically a lovers' quarrel, often manifested in total silent treatment or not speaking to each other. And most of us… have our own share of tampuhan scenes with our Lord…
The person who is nagtatampo expects to be aamuin or cajoled out of the feeling of being unhappy or left out. And its true, we expect God to make amo to us…expecting God will do something to make our pagtatampo wash away…
Usually, tampo is manifested in non-verbal ways, such as not talking to other people, keeping to one's self, being unusually quiet, not joining friends in group activities, not joining family outing, or simply locking one's self in his or her room. --- and indeed, sometimes (most of the time for some), we tend to forget our daily personal dialogue with Him… or we tend to step down from our service… we tend to isolate ourselves from people who love us… we tend to make mukmuk and let the day pass by without settling our pagtatampo with the Lord.
But the bottomline --- sino ba ang sumusuko…ang bumibitaw…ang nagtatampo…di ba Ikaw? Ako? Tayo? We are the ones who are isolating ourselves from God’s direction and people… so sino ang dapat na bumalik – diba Ikaw rin? Ako? Tayo?
