iCook: Torts Pasta
My own version of spicy Bacon and Mushroom Organic Tortellini Formaggio smothered in rich homemade tomato sauce, with parmesan and romano cheese. |
With
the convenience of pasta and pasta sauces plus the ability to make bulk
quantities of pasta (and freezer-friendly!), pasta dishes are a super easy
go-to option for quick and easy dinners.
Adding
different meat and vegetables, or choosing between cream or tomato-based sauces
means that you have unlimited options. One could never get sick of pasta.
Thanks
to Tertia – my officemate – for sharing this idea. I just added some
ingredients to make it ‘my own’ Torts Pasta.
INGREDIENTS:
• 250g Tortellini
• 400 grams of Bacon
• 1 can of sliced Mushrooms
• 8-10 overripe tomatoes
• 2 Tablespoons of Butter
• 1 ginisa mix
• 1/2 teaspoon Salt
• Ground Pepper
• Grated Parmesan and Romano cheese
Boil
your water , add the oil and salt, then your organic tortellini . Stir until
cooked throughout (15-20min). Stir consistently.
Strain
your torts.
Meanwhile
, prepare your homemade tomato sauce
Cut
up 400g of regular bacon and fry. Remove from pan.
Pour
out bacon fat from pan but do not wash the pan.
Add
some butter to pan.
Cut
up 8-9 overripe tomatoes and fry with salt, ground black pepper and ginisa mix
until broken down into a sauce.
Add
sliced mushroom and bacon to the sauce and reduce until thick.
You
may add ground chili if you want it to be spicy.
Serve
on tortellini with freshly grated parmesan and romano cheese.
Bon
appetit!
